                    SOLARMETER ? 8.0 UVC

                    The Model 8.0 features an Integral Sensor and applications include lamp UVC lamps intensity & aging, germicidal lamps intensity & aging, eyewear UV block comparison, UVC lamp box leak check.

                    The Model 8.0RP is also available with a remote sensor on a 900mm cable. The probe is black anodized aluminum for maximum durability and light weight and measures a compact 20.3mm high by 40.6mm diameter providing an added measure of flexibility in limited and confined spaces.

                    Silicon Carbide (SIC) Photodiode packaged in hermetically sealed UV glass window cap. Interference filter blocks UVA and UVB.

                    Press and hold push-button switch on face of unit. Aim sensor window in top panel of meter directly at UV source. Note reading on LCD and record if desired.

                    Proper Usage of Solarmeter ? Ultraviolet Radiometer for Lamp Tests

                    • Wear UV-block eye, face, hand protection when checking UVC lamps.

                    • Allow lamps to warm-up prior to taking readings (at least 5 min).

                    • Hold sensor close to lamp to measure individual lamp UVC intensity. Hold sensor at distance from lamp(s) for effective sterilization intensity.

                    • When checking aging of lamps, keep measuring distance and locations constant.

                    • Lamps should be replaced when output drops to about 70% of their original (new) readings.

                    • If unsure of what original new values were, replace a lamp with new one and compare old one.

                    • Do not subject the meter to extremes in temperature, humidity, shock or dust.

                    • Use a dry, soft cloth to clean the intrument. Keep sensor free of oil, dirt, etc.

                    Note: Sensor is completely solar blind to UVB, UVA, visible, and IR. Meter will read 000 pointing to non-UVC sources, eg, sun, floodlamps, etc.
